To Make Exponents: When letters are up in the corner like an exponent, it's called "superscript." That's what we need to do to make an exponent.
To make something superscript, we write <sup>something</sup>
So to make x 2 we write x<sup> 2 </sup>

You make an x squared by writing an x and a little two up top like a exponent being squared that's an x being squared.
